Dear DOYO Live Community,

It means everything in the world to my family and me that you came out to support DOYO Live. To all of you attendees, speakers, sponsors, and Steel Valley Brew Works, I am humbled by your support.

If you had asked me before the event this year, I didn’t know what the future had in store. To be fully transparent, coming into 2022, I wanted to go through with it because I ultimately didn’t want the pandemic to be the reason it ended, and I wanted to deliver for you, The DOYO Live Community. I believe that we go out on our swords if we go out and not because of the climate over the past couple of years. Furthermore, I started to question if we were making an impact and if there was a need for the event.

Nothing is easy, but the demands on my time with 4-young kids have increased more than I’d ever imagined. My priority #1 is to be the best husband and best dad I can be. DOYO Live allows me to show my kids what can come of hard work and all the amazing things you can accomplish by serving your community. However, at the same time, I don’t want to miss a minute of them growing up. And DOYO Live, done right, requires a significant amount of time and energy that pulls me away from home.

And all I really ever wanted from the event was to leave my community in a better place than I found it.

With all these things swirling around, I took a moment to reflect on the past 8-years. I never expected to meet all of you, Jim Tressel or Ray Mancini or have over a thousand participants from over 30 states and all walks of life or have this big of an impact on the business and marketing community in Youngstown.

Not because I’m not committed to the DOYO Live Marketing Conference, that’s not it at all…However, I don’t want to do anything half-ass if I cannot be all in. And that’s the bottom line because you all deserve the best and probably the reason why I started to second guess the future of the event.

Hopefully, you all learned something you can implement into your businesses, that you made a meaningful connection, and had an amazing experience. I really care about you and your business and seeing your professional growth and the growth of your business flourish.

This past week was amazing!!!

You helped renew my hope that DOYO Live helps fill a much-needed void. There was so much energy in the room, and the feedback has been so phenomenal; it’s not time to retire DOYO Live. In fact, it’s time to double down and find the next generation of entrepreneurs and marketing professionals in the area to help evolve this event into the growth of its next phase!

And when I say growth, I’m not talking about the number of people that attend but about the overall design of the event and delivery of the experience.

Ultimately it’s not for me to decide; it’s up to The DOYO Live Community. We will keep things going if you find value in the monthly webinars, the weekly live podcast, and the annual event. And as of last week it seems as though you did, so THANK YOU!!!
